Program Ideas:

Cultural Educational workshops ( Employees only)

Can be integrated into existing Team meetings and/or Offsites . Best suited for Teams which are looking to build awareness and develop more rounded understanding of the different nuances of South Asian Culture. These workshops allow employees to build greater empathy and learn techniques to include team-members from a South Asian background. Fun team building South Asian art and craft activities can include Clay pottery & painting, Fabric art creation like Bandhani (Indian Tie & Die), Zardosi ( Indian embroidery) and Fabric Block printing.

Cultural Educational workshops (Employee + Family)

Employees who, along with their kids build awareness about the South Asian culture. These workshops use various arts and craft exercises and create a multi-sensorial experience through story times, games, string puppet shows (Katputli) and children songs in Hindi & English.

Cooking South Asian meals! 

Can be integrated into existing Team meetings and/or Offsites along with Holiday programming or Multicultural Days. Best suited for teams looking to bond over food while still developing a good understanding of the flavors, spices and techniques of South Asian cooking! Includes a historical perspective of how different regions adopted unique methods to cook their food and how that represents different parts of the South Asian identity.

Bollywood Dance 101 

Best suited for Teams looking to come together using dance and fitness as their theme. Learn not just the moves, but also the background on Bollywood and its cultural prevalence amongst South Asians across the world.

Holiday Celebrations from South Asia (Employee + Family)

Can be integrated into Holiday programming , Multicultural Days or Bring your kids to work day. Best suited for Teams with employees with families new from South Asia looking to celebrate popular South Asian festivals like Holi: Festival of Colors in March and Diwali: Festival of Lights in November, Dussehra ,Eid and many more to feel more included and part of the office culture in the United States. Art/Craft Activities can include Holi color art, Diwali Diya decorations along with Rangoli Art , Eid craft and much more with Story time for children in Hindi & English.
